Greek Theatre

Just nine miles southeast is one of the most popular venues for live musical entertainment in Southern California.  Located within the Griffith Park grounds, the Greek Theatre is an open-air amphitheatre that showcases the biggest names in music, in a very intimate setting.  Having recently celebrated its 75th birthday, the Greek Theatre is the premier locale for the hottest performers in the world to strut their stuff.

Hollywood Bowl

One of the world’s most renowned outdoor venues, the Hollywood Bowl is the Crown Jewel of cultural landmarks in Los Angeles.  Located less than seven miles south of the hotel, the Bowl has hosted some of the biggest names in music, dance and drama.  Since 1922, this large amphitheater has been the summer home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic.  With a seating capacity of 18,000, Angelinos has enjoyed the acoustic wonders of this natural canyon setting for generations.  The grounds are open year-round and admission is free.

Motion Picture & Television Studios

Disney Studios

Just over three miles to the south, is the studio that owes it phenomenal success to a talking mouse.  The Walt Disney Studios, affectionately referred to as “The House that Mickey Built,” has been bringing joy and laughter to generations of children and adults since 1923.  In its present location since 1937, the 51-acre studio complex has six sound stages and is home to the Disney’s animation division and television productions.

KABC-TV Studios

Just a short drive up the road from the Disney Studios, is the home of the company’s local network affiliate, KABC-TV (Disney is the parent company of ABC).  The new studio, located not far from the DreamWorks Animation campus, has been upgrated to high-definition capability and is currently the only television station in Los Angeles that produces daily newscasts in HD.

DreamWorks Animation SKG

Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck aren’t the only cartoon characters in town.  Located a few miles east of the Disney studio is the company that is the home of Shrek and Donkey – DreamWorks Animation.  The modern state-of-the-art facility has been the creative residence to nearly 1,000 artists, writers, designers, engineers and producers for nearly a decade.

NBC Studios

This landmark on Alameda Drive is probably most famous for two words…“Heeeeeere’s Johnny.”  Located just a few blocks west of the Disney Studios, the legendary NBC Studios has been the home of The Tonight Show since 1972.  Of all the commercial T.V. networks in Los Angeles, this is the only facility that offers a behind-the-scenes tour to the public.

Walt Disney Imagineering

Just up the block from DreamWorks another house of magic and wonder.  Walt Disney Imagineering designs and builds theme parks facilities, rides and attractions.  Created in 1952, WDI was the brains and muscles behind Disneyland and all the subsequent parks and resorts around the world.

Warner Bros. Studios

Formed by four Polish émigrés in 1918, Warner Bros. Studios is one of the world’s largest producers of motion picture and television entertainment.  Originally a B-studio (low-budget), the studio shot to prominence with the release of the first “talking” picture, The Jazz Singer in 1928.  With the success of that film, Warners moved to their present Burbank location – a massive 110-acre studio facility, with 34 sound stages.  Guided V.I.P. tours are available.
