Spread the Holiday Spirit at the Holiday Cheer in Downtown Burbank


Spreading the holiday spirit in Downtown Burbank this winter is the Holiday Cheer events running from December 1st to 7th, including the Downtown Wonderland and the Mayor’s Tree Lighting Ceremony. Part of the extended program of the 12 Days of Holiday Cheer, is numerous activities are set to make sure the whole family can enjoy the winter fun. There is everything to offer from holiday decorations, carols, and parties to sing-a-long sessions and Santa’s visit. Set amongst the beautiful street decorations scattered over the area, Downtown Burbank will shimmer this winter as everyone gets a Christmas to remember. If you’re spending the holidays in Burbank and staying in a Burbank hotel, then don’t’ miss out on this festive event.

The Mayor’s Tree Lighting Ceremony this year is being held on Thursday, December 6th, at 6 pm. Located in front of City Hall, on East Olive Avenue, Santa will arrive to light the community tree alongside the town mayor which kick starts the celebrations for the holidays. Once Father Christmas has come, and the tree has been lit up in spectacular colors, the gathered crowds will parade down to San Fernando Boulevard to experience the magic of Santa’s Downtown Wonderland under the magical light effect of falling snowflakes. All along the route from Magnolia Boulevard to Olive Avenue, there will be popular children’s characters, enormous balloons, wandering carolers, vintage cars, face painting, holiday craft stalls, treats, and more between 6:30 pm and 8:30 pm. Santa himself will take his place on the AMC Walkway with the massive walk through tree.

Then, on December 4th, everyone is invited to the Polar Bear Pool Party held at the Burbank Community YMCA, where there will be movie screenings, games, treats, and fun all morning between 9 am up to 1 pm. On Monday, December 5th, Center Court is hosting Santa’s Pet Night in Burbank Town Center. On December 6th, the Holly Trolley Tours will commence, showing off the best of Burbank’s holiday decorations from the open-top double-decker bus, with holiday music and hot chocolate for passengers.
