Burbank is a city located north of Los Angeles. While it might not have the flashiness of downtown LA, it’s a vibrant city that has plenty to offer. One thing to consider exploring are the Burbank historical sites located throughout the city. Stay at the nearby ramada inn near airport.

 

Burbank City Hall

Perhaps one of the first things you’ll notice when you take a look at Burbank’s City Hall is the incredible architecture. At the time it was built, in 1943, it was designed to a modern building and used the style and design that was popular at the time. It’s a perfect example of the art deco style that was popular in Los Angeles during the 1930s and 40s. Be sure to check out the sculpture and carvings locating on the sides of the building on the west side, the east side, and one located on the Third Street side of the building.

 

Portal of the Folded Wings, Valhalla Memorial Park

In 1924, the Valhalla Memorial Rotunda was originally built as the entrance to the Valhalla Memorial Park. The nearby rotunda included garden walls, reflection pools and was often used as a location for musical concerts and public events during the 1920s and 30s. Today, it’s also known as the portal of the folded wings shrine to Aviation and Museum. Stop by and see this spectacular piece of architecture and the craftsmanship that went into this design.

 

Warner Bros. Studios

Did you know that the studio that brought you Ocean’s 8, Harry Potter, A star is Born, Ready Play One,The Dark Knight and many other movies is located right in Burbank? The Warner Bros. Studio was founded in 1923 and since then has been at the forefront of the entertainment industry bringing not only movies to the stage but also television, animation, comic books and more.
