Art lovers, rejoice because it is nearly time for the annual Downtown Burbank Art Festival! Each year, the city of Burbank throws a fun-filled festival that the whole community can enjoy. Gather with the rest of the community as you meander up and down streets filled with vendors. Look through one-of-a-kind pieces of artwork from over 100 artists while listening to music hosted by 100.3 The Sound. The Downtown Burbank Art Festival takes place from April 11th through the 12th from 10am – 5pm on each day. The festival will take place down San Fernando Blvd, which is located between Magnolia and Olive Avenue. One of the highlights of the Downtown Burbank Art Festival is the chalk walk. 8 of Southern California’s most talented street painters will be at the festival to showcase their work some of their great work. Some of these artists include Gus Moran, Chris Brake, Lury Norris, Juan Manuel, Randall Williams, Nick Gonzalez, Theresa Knopf Morgan, and Ruth Villa. Walk down the street and see these talented artists mix vibrant colors as they create masterpieces all from chalk. Another great thing about this festival is that the artists are all regional so when you purchase a piece of artwork, you will be supporting local talent. There will be many different types of artwork as well. You will find paintings in a variety of media such as watercolor and oils, sculptures, photographs, hand crafted jewelry, hand blown glass, ceramics, metal work, and even pieces of woodwork.

Afterward, consider sticking around Downtown Burbank, as there is much to do. The downtown district boasts over 200 shops and 80 restaurants. Go shopping at Macy’s, Urban Outfitters or IKEA. Maybe stop by the AMC-16 for a movie or head over to PF Chang’s and grab a bite to eat.
