Climb Aboard for Family Fun at the Railroad Museum!

If you are looking for an outdoor activity to do with you and your family while staying in the Burbank area, look no further than the Los Angeles Live Steamers Railroad Museum (LALSRM) where you and your family can ride on model trains! Train enthusiasts who wanted to educate others in the history of the railroads and lore, started the LA Steamers Railroad Museum back in 1956. In addition, they also saw the Museum as a means to further advocate for gas-mechanical, live steam, and electric railroad technology.

Still open to the public today, you and your family can stop by the museum and check out some of the miniature trains that are still functioning. In fact, there are even 7½” gauge model trains that are fully operational, which the general public can ride on! You and your family can ride on these model trains every Sunday from 11am – 3pm. The only exceptions are the Sunday before Memorial Day, the first Sunday in October, and whether or not the weather is permitting. The gate to enter onto the train is open from 10:45am – 3pm and the train rides will begin promptly at 11am and will continue throughout the day until 3pm. In addition to the 7½” gauge model trains, there are also tracks for the 4¾”  and the 3½” gauge model trains. As a non-profit organization, the Los Angeles Live Steamers Railroad Museum runs solely on donations made by visitors and other train enthusiasts.

The Los Angeles Live Steamers Railroad Museum is located at 5202 Zoo Drive in Los Angeles.
