The Griffith Observatory, atop one of the park’s highest hills, is a free museum dedicated to the stars in the sky. The Autry National Center, otherwise known as the Museum of the American West across the street is a an intercultural history center that showcases the stories of the diverse people that live in West America. You can also see over 1000 species of wildlife at the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens. For a small, historical park experience, visit Brand Park in Glendale to enjoy a library, friendship garden and Japanese Tea House along with sports fields.


What’s a visit to the Entertainment Capital of the World without music and sports? Los Angeles is home to the Hollywood Bowl, the world’s largest outdoor amphitheatre surrounded by the Hollywood Hills. The Greek Theatre is another popular outdoor venue that hosts pop, classical, reggae and rock entertainment live concerts year-round. The Gibson Amphitheatre, part of Universal Studios Citywalk is an indoor venue home to concerts, awards and variety shows. Universal CityWalk outside of Universal Studios has a variety of stores selling apparel, collectibles, games, food and beauty products. Ventura Boulevard connects Universal City, Sherman Oaks and Studio City, where many celebrities shop. Check out the section between Coldwater Canyon and Colfax Avenue or Tujunga Village for a fun shopping spree. You can also check out the Galleria in Glendale for all the latest in commercial retail, or the the new Americana across the street for even more technology and apparel stores.


Burbank may be a suburb but it is not devoid of nightlife! Visit Tony’s Darts Away, a gastropub nearby for a large beer selection, many vegan options and an environmentally-friendly atmosphere. The Corner Bar is a great dive bar for karaoke on Thursday nights. For a great night, buy tickets to Flapper’s Comedy Club and Restaurant, where you can see professional and ameteur comedians while enjoying a delicious meal.
